He has just done a head gasket repair but we can't get the van to start with fuel from the fuel tank. We have fully bled it pumped fuel through from the tank with a hand pump. Filled the fuel filter but it won't fire up. If we disconnect the fuel line from the tank and use a Jerry can of diesel it starts and runs.
1. The possible blocked pipe may now have split, although the fuel consumption seems fine. 2. It's just some excess diesel from the leak residing on the drip tray/floor of car under engine bay. I'm going to get hold of some torx keys to remove the under tray and clean it.
My '06 Focus 1.8 TDCi has developed some power issues. It has now stopped 3 times, and needs a wait of between 5 - 10 minutes before it will start again. I took it to a garage, hoping they would run diagnostics, but they couldn't find anything (I don't believe they ever did full diagnostic) Pre ignition, the normal battery , oil and handbrake
Ford Year: 2008. UK/Ireland Location: Dublin. Posted October 14, 2017. The boss was on her way home on a 200 mile run and around 50 miles away, the engine started rattling and so she called me. We got the car recovered back to the house. I did a compression test this morning and got: Cyl. 1 = 610 PSI, Cyl. 2 = 415 PSI, Cyls'. 3 & 4 around 300 PSI.
